Apertura Antica Pieve di San Venanzio (Opening of the Ancient Parish Church)

The Antica Pieve di San Venanzio, also known as the Romanesque church of Santa Maria di Savonuzzo, opens its doors for a special event dedicated to discovering the local historical heritage. Built in 1344 on the ridge of an ancient riverbed at the behest of the feudal lord Giovanni da Saletta, the parish church was originally founded to care for the souls of the local community, as documented by the epigraph on the facade. During the opening, visitors can admire the interior spaces, which preserve precious 14th-century frescoes by the Bolognese school depicting the life of the Virgin Mary.
