Sagra del Cotechino (Cotechino Festival)

The 127th edition of the Sagra del Cotechino returns to Alberone, the hamlet of Cento that has celebrated one of Emilia's most authentic dishes for over a century. This year the event spans two weekends, from August 27 to September 6, transforming the Alberone Sports Centre into an arena of genuine flavours and conviviality. The local cotechino, offered in various formats from mini to full-size, remains the undisputed star, accompanied by a rich selection of traditional Emilian cuisine ranging from tortellini to garganelli, from salamina da sugo to grilled specialties. But the Sagra is more than just food: the event intertwines with the Feast of the Blessed Virgin of the Willow and comes alive each evening with live music starting around 9:30 PM, creating a convivial atmosphere perfect for rediscovering authentic flavours in good company. The fireworks display on the final night will crown this special edition, while children will enjoy bouncy castles and entertainment. Organised by Pro Loco Alberone, this festival represents a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the gastronomic culture of Lower Emilia, where every dish tells a story of traditions passed down through time.
