The Festa della Patata di Vezzolacca is an unmissable event for lovers of mountain cuisine and Emilia-Romagna's gastronomic traditions. Now in its 48th edition, this festival represents a well-established excellence in the regional festival landscape, maintaining since 1977 the recipe for its success: genuine products, artisanal preparation, and a festive atmosphere that attracts thousands of visitors each year to the small hamlet of Vernasca. From August 21-23, 2026, the Pro Loco's food stands will welcome guests with a menu celebrating potatoes in all their forms: from the unmissable gnocchi and tortelli prepared with traditional recipes, to crispy French fries, and savory potato pie. But the festival offers far more than potato dishes: the culinary offerings are enriched with specialties from Piacenza's tradition such as wild boar with polenta, skewers, sausage and grilled coppa, not forgetting the desserts that conclude each evening. Three days dedicated to taste, music and mountain cheer, with completely free entry and parking. The stands open each evening at 7:00 PM, accompanying dinners with live music, orchestras and DJ sets that will enliven the summer evenings in one of the most charming villages of the Piacenza Apennines.
