Sagra della Rana e del Pesce

The Soarza district in the municipality of Villanova sull'Arda in the province of Piacenza is preparing to celebrate one of Emilia-Romagna's most distinctive culinary traditions. From May 29-31, 2026, the 46th edition of the Sagra della Rana e del Pesce returns, an unmissable event for those wishing to discover the authentic flavors of Piacenza cuisine, where frogs and catfish are the undisputed stars of dishes passed down through generations. Organized with dedication by the Pro Loco Amici di Soarza, this festival is much more than a simple gastronomic celebration: it's an opportunity to immerse yourself in the convivial and genuine atmosphere of local traditions. The food stalls will offer not only the region's river specialties but also seafood fried dishes, the celebrated Piacenza tortelli, and other delights of regional tradition, all accompanied by local wines and quality craft beer. The event runs for three days with hours suited to every need: Friday and Saturday the stalls open from 7:30 PM, while on Sunday you can enjoy the specialties at both lunch (from 12:00 PM) and dinner (from 7:30 PM). But the Sagra is more than just food: evening dances, live music, and an atmosphere brimming with joy will complete this celebration of Emilian flavors and conviviality. The event takes place on Via XXV Aprile in Soarza. Parking is available near the main square. The festival is accessible to visitors with reduced mobility, with dedicated pathways at the food stalls.
