The Sagra dell'Ulivo e dell'Olio in Brisighella is an unmissable event for lovers of Italian olive oil excellence. Every late November, the charming ancient village welcomes visitors from across Italy eager to discover and taste the extraordinary DOP oils that have made Brisighella a symbol of quality in Emilia-Romagna. A tradition rooted in Roman antiquity, when the Lamone valley was already renowned for olive cultivation and the production of its precious fruits. The Agricultural Cooperative Brisighellese takes centre stage at the festival, having safeguarded and promoted the local olive heritage for over fifty years. Four DOP oils are celebrated during the festival: the appreciated Nobildrupa, Orfanello, Pieve Tho and the celebrated Brisighello, obtained from the cold pressing of the Nostrana di Brisighella olive. This last one represents the jewel of local production: an extra virgin oil with unique organoleptic characteristics, bitter and slightly peppery, capable of magnificently enhancing the flavours of meats, vegetables and fish in Romagnol cuisine. Attending the Sagra dell'Ulivo means immersing yourself in an authentic sensory experience where tradition, territory and quality meet. During the event you can taste directly from producers, participate in guided tastings, learn the secrets of nature-respecting cultivation and take home the olive oil excellences that have enjoyed DOP recognition since 1996, a seal guaranteeing authenticity and excellence. THE PROGRAMME The Sagra takes place on 30 November 2026 throughout Brisighella's ancient village, from 10:00 to 19:00. The programme includes: tasting stands from local producers, sensory workshops to learn how to recognise oil qualities, live cooking demonstrations with local chefs preparing typical Romagnol dishes, guided tours of the Cooperative Agricola Brisighellese mill, artisan markets and spaces dedicated to local food and wine experiences. HOW TO GET HERE Brisighella is located in Ravenna province, approximately 40 km from Ravenna and 60 km from Forlì. By car: access via SR67 or E45. By train: Faenza station (15 km), connected to major Emilia-Romagna cities. Parking available in areas adjacent to the village.
