Festa dell’Olio Nuovo (New Olive Oil Festival)

On Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November 2026, Canneto Sabino, a hamlet of Fara in Sabina, will host the 29th Festa dell'Olio Novo in Piazza Luigi Pacieri. Organized by the Pro Canneto association, this event celebrates freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil and the area's rich culinary heritage with a weekend dedicated to flavor, tradition, and conviviality. Over the course of the two days, visitors will enjoy craft markets and stands selling authentic Sabina specialties, sensory tasting experiences, EVOO olive oil tasting workshops, and guided tastings. The program also features children's workshops alongside live music and entertainment suitable for all ages. Rounding out the festivities are guided tours of local olive oil mills to observe the fresh pressing process firsthand, as well as walking tours to admire the 'Ulivone', the majestic thousand-year-old tree renowned as the largest olive tree in Italy and Europe.
