Festa dei Cimini

The Festa dei Cimini is set to celebrate the region's culinary excellence with a wine and food festival spanning the entire Monti Cimini area from June 17-21, 2026. Five days of discovery featuring engaging cooking demonstrations, guided tastings, and scenic walks that will take visitors through the towns of the area (Soriano nel Cimino, Viterbo, Bassano in Teverina, Caprarola, and Bomarzo), revealing the culinary and landscape treasures of this fascinating Lazio region. The grand finale on Sunday, June 21 at the stunning Castello Orsini in Soriano nel Cimino (11:30 AM-8:00 PM) is the beating heart of the festival. A farmers' market and exhibition space will showcase local producers where you can discover and taste the region's finest agri-food products: from Nocciola Romana IGP hazelnuts to porcini mushrooms, organic vegetables, Chianina beef, artisanal cheeses, and DOC wines from the Castelli Romani. Slow Food will offer educational workshops for children (2:00 PM-7:00 PM), making the festival an occasion for gastronomic awareness for the whole family. The public discussion ‹Viaggio in Tuscia: la bellezza e la custodia del territorio come risorsa› (5:30 PM, free entry) will bring together administrators and experts to reflect on how wine and food heritage represents a vital resource for territorial development. From Monday, June 17 to Saturday, June 20, scenic walks (3:00 PM-7:00 PM) will guide visitors through the participating towns, accompanied by themed tastings at local wineries and farms. Cooking demonstrations will take place in main squares with local chefs preparing typical Tuscia cuisine (4:30 PM-6:30 PM). All activities are free and accessible with simple mandatory registration, making this festival a democratic opportunity to experience the authentic culture and flavors of the Monti Cimini, where food becomes the language of territory and identity.
