Soriano nel Cimino celebra l’autunno: dal 2 al 18 ottobre torna la Sagra delle Castagne, manifestazione storico rievocativa (Soriano nel Cimino Celebrates Autumn with the Sagra delle Castagne Historical Reenactment)

From October 2 to 18, 2026, Soriano nel Cimino hosts the 59th edition of the Sagra delle Castagne, a renowned historical reenactment celebrating autumn traditions and local heritage at the foot of the majestic Orsini Castle. Throughout the festival weekends, the alleys, piazzas, and taverns of this Tuscia village come alive with grand historical parades, flag-wavers, musicians, swordsmen, and fire-eaters. At the heart of the reenactment are the four historic contrade — Papacqua, San Giorgio, Trinità, and Rocca — competing in the traditional Disputa de lo Palio, popular games, and the period-costume spectacles of 'Alacris Civitas'. The celebration also features antique and artisan craft markets, guided tours, medieval and Renaissance food and wine experiences like the 'Convivium Secretum', and plenty of freshly roasted chestnuts.
