Salice Salentino

Salice Salentino is a red DOC wine originating from the province of Lecce, in the heart of southern Puglia. Produced mainly from Negroamaro grapes, an indigenous vine variety of the region, it represents one of the most characteristic wines of Salento. The production area, rich in winemaking history, benefits from the warm climate and calcareous soil that give the wine particular organoleptic properties.

In the glass, Salice Salentino presents itself with an intense ruby red colour, with good body and a marked tannic structure. On the palate it shows notes of ripe red fruits, sometimes accompanied by spicy hints and a characteristic persistent aftertaste. Natural alcohol content is generally high, an element that underscores the power and generosity of this wine.

In the kitchen, thanks to its full body and structure, it pairs well with robust dishes from Puglian tradition: grilled red meats, ragù and dressed pastas. It can be appreciated in its youth as well, although aging in the bottle allows for a more complex and nuanced development of its aromatic characteristics.
