Festa del Borgo e Sagra del Civraxu (Medieval Village Festival & Civraxu Bread Fair)

The Festa del Borgo e Sagra del Civraxu brings the evocative streets of Sanluri's ancient medieval village to life, right behind the town castle—considered the best preserved in Sardinia and exceptionally open for guided visits. The event celebrates the island's arts, crafts, and centuries-old traditions through a rich cultural and enogastronomic journey. The undisputed star of the festival is Civraxu, the famous traditional bread of Sanluri, highlighted through hands-on workshops demonstrating the entire bread-making process from sourdough preparation to baking, complete with tastings. The experience is further enriched by live heritage demonstrations, including traditional Sardinian stone milling, artisanal pasta-making (fregola and malloreddus), ornamental bread-crafting (coccoi pintau), and su pani indorau, alongside showcases on the grape harvest, the dairy supply chain, traditional carapigna lemon sorbet, and tastings of local gastronomic excellence.
