Festival Licanìas a Neoneli

The Licanìas Festival returns to Neoneli for its tenth edition, cementing its status as one of the most important cultural events in inland Sardinia. From June 18-21, 2026, the heart of Barigadu in the province of Oristano will transform into a laboratory of ideas where literature, music, and visual arts converge around the theme ‹Destinies›, chosen to celebrate both the festival's tenth anniversary and the centennial of the Nobel Prize in Literature awarded to Grazia Deledda. A particularly meaningful choice that underscores the cultural significance of this festival in the Sardinian landscape. Under the artistic direction of Davide Corriga, the programme features prominent national guests including Ascanio Celestini, Vera Gheno, Massimo Carlotto, Nadeesha Uyangoda, and musician Giovanni Truppi. Literary discussions alternate with performances, artistic workshops, and concerts, while Neoneli's historic centre hosts convivial gatherings where visitors can savour local products in an authentic and welcoming atmosphere. Territory promotion and counteracting depopulation in inland towns remain the founding values of Licanìas. This year the festival also celebrates fifty years of activity by the Tenores di Neoneli, historic voices of Sardinian musical tradition, transforming the event into an opportunity for encounter and shared celebration that honours the cultural roots of Barigadu.
