The Dolomiti Balloonweek brings the wonder and enchantment of hot air ballooning to Dobbiaco, in Alta Pusteria. Throughout the event, visitors can watch the colorful balloons launch against the dramatic backdrop of the Dolomite peaks or embark on an unforgettable panoramic flight. The full experience lasts about half a day and includes all preparation phases, approximately one hour in the air depending on wind conditions, post-flight deflation, and the traditional flight christening, with baskets carrying between two and five passengers in addition to the pilot. The opening day on January 6, 2027, features a packed schedule for all ages. Launches begin at 10:00 AM, alongside tethered flights tailored for children between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. In the late afternoon from 5:00 PM onwards, the town center of Dobbiaco hosts the opening ceremony, highlighted by the glowing model balloons of the Night Glow show and face painting for kids.
