Serata con il Grop de la Mèscres de Cianacei e Gries (Ladin Carnival Folklore Evening)

The 'Serata con il Grop de la Mèscres de Cianacei e Gries' is a summer folklore event in Canazei dedicated to rediscovering and celebrating the traditions of the Val di Fassa Ladin Carnival. The cultural group brings local rituals and figures to life through handcrafted wooden masks, known as 'faceres', along with authentic costumes decorated with ribbons, lace, and cowbells. Key traditional characters take the stage during the performances: the 'Laché', who opens the show with lively leaps and rhymes; the 'Marascons', who advance in pairs setting the rhythm with large cowbells tied around their waists; and the 'Bufon', an irreverent trickster who recites playful rhymes and teases spectators with his wooden wand. The open-air performances take place in the charming setting of Piaz G. Marconi in Canazei. In the event of bad weather, the show moves indoors to the Marmolada theatre and cinema hall.
