Transumanza e festa al Jochumhof (Transhumance & Farm Festival)

In Curon Venosta, the time-honoured tradition of the Transumanza e festa al Jochumhof returns, celebrating the cattle's descent back to the valley after the summer in high-altitude pastures. Organised by the Blaas family and friends, the event features an approximate 10-kilometre walk following the herd, departing from Kappl and heading towards Curon. The route includes several traditional stops: a refreshment point is set up in Kapron alongside the separation of the Wagyu cattle, while near Ratschkofel the advancing herd is fitted with ceremonial cowbells and welcomed by traditional whip-cracker performances. The festivities then continue at the Jochumhof farmstead with delicious grilled specialities and fun activities for children.
