Festa delle Castagne con Sbruciatata (Chestnut Festival with Roasted Chestnuts)

On Sunday, October 25, 2026, the village of Migliana in the municipality of Cantagallo will host the Festa delle Castagne con Sbruciatata. Organized by the Proloco di Migliana alongside the Municipality of Cantagallo and the Fondazione Cdse, this celebration highlights the signature autumn fruit of the Val di Bisenzio. In Piazza della Chiesa, visitors can watch the traditional roasting of chestnuts over open braziers and savor delightful sweets and mulled wine. The festival features a rich lineup of entertainment throughout the day, including artisan markets, a local craft fair, and fun activities for children. Among the cultural highlights is a historic guided tour of the Cannicciaia delle Valli (traditional chestnut-drying hut), open to the public for the very first time. A free shuttle bus service will run to make reaching the square easy, while in the event of bad weather, the festival will be postponed to the following Sunday.
