The Festa di' Baccello returns to San Quirico in Collina to celebrate one of the undisputed stars of Tuscan cuisine. Over the weekend of May 9-10, the Montespertoli Arci Circle transforms into a gastronomic experience centered on tradition and quality, where fresh and delicious fava beans become the true guests of honor.

But what is a baccello? It's the fava bean pod, a spring legume with a thousand-year history in Tuscan peasant tradition. Eaten fresh in spring, it represents the arrival of a new season and the rebirth of the fields. In Tuscany, it's enjoyed in soups, as a side dish, or simply with bread and cheese.

Beyond baccello-based dishes, the festival offers a complete journey through local flavors with regional products and traditional ficattole, while also catering to vegetarian and vegan diets. Food stalls will be open Saturday from 7:00 PM to midnight and Sunday from 12:00 to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to midnight, allowing visitors to enjoy specialties at different times of the day.

But the Festa di' Baccello is more than just food: Sunday comes alive with craft markets from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, e-bike tours through the Tuscan hills (advance booking recommended), free guided walks through the territory, and live music in the afternoon. A perfect setting for families too, who will find games and entertainment for children from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. An unmissable opportunity to discover authentic Tuscany through its flavors and traditions.
