Sagra del Fico (Fig Festival)

The Sagra del Fico returns to Bacchereto, a hamlet in the municipality of Carmignano, to celebrate a symbolic fruit of Tuscan peasant tradition: the dried fig. This festival was created to highlight the harvest period and the meticulous drying process of figs, a product that for generations has represented both a vital source of sustenance and a true local delicacy. During the event, food stalls will offer traditional pairings such as fresh and dried figs served with local cured meats and cheeses, along with a selection of desserts and typical recipes featuring this fruit. To accompany the culinary specialties, there will be the area's renowned local wines, most notably Carmignano DOCG. The event also offers the opportunity to discover the agricultural roots and heritage of Bacchereto through a rich program of side activities, including music shows, educational workshops, and guided tours of local olive oil mills and farms.
