The Contrada San Nicolao organizes the Sagra del Frate - Festa della Colombina e dei piatti tipici butesi in Buti. Held in the Vagliaio area (via San Niccolò), this event celebrates local culinary traditions, shining a spotlight on the famous 'frati'—the traditional sweet fried donuts of the area—alongside a menu of classic dishes from Buti cooked according to historical recipes. Throughout the festival evenings, the delicious food is accompanied by live music and entertainment. Sunday is made even more special by the evocative ritual of the 'lancio della Colombina' (the flight of the little dove), a rocket that glides along a wire stretched over the Rio Magno as an auspicious gesture of celebration linked to the local Palio tradition.
