Sagra della Bistecca a Montemurlo (Steak Festival)

From September 11 to 13, 2026, the Rocca di Montemurlo hosts the Sagra della Bistecca, a culinary gathering set on the panoramic terrace of the former Canonica di Rocca. Promoted by the Il Borgo della Rocca association alongside the Gruppo Alpini, in memory of Alessandro Polidori, the event celebrates the authentic culinary traditions of Tuscany. Throughout the evenings, guests can savor the traditional Rocca grilled steak and wild boar tortelli. The menu also features various daily specials, including maccheroni with duck ragù, stewed duck, farmyard mixed fry, paella, celery meatballs, polenta with mushrooms, and the classic peposo di Rocca (peppery beef stew). The festival combines fine food with solidarity: all proceeds from the three evenings will go toward funding the restoration and maintenance of the portico of the Pieve di San Giovanni Decollato.
