The Sagra delle Fragole & Panna in Matassino returns for its 40th edition, establishing itself once again as one of Tuscany's most beloved and sweetest spring events. From May 22-31, this charming village transforms into a gastronomic destination where fresh strawberries meet silky cream in an irresistible combination that has enchanted visitors from across the region for four decades. Organised by the Parish of Santa Maria Regina, this festival transcends simple food tasting to become a true community celebration where tradition and entertainment intertwine. Beyond the essential food stalls featuring strawberries and cream, Nutella crêpes, and other savoury and sweet specialities, this year's programme is enriched with activities and events designed to showcase the territory and its cultural heritage. Themed dinners followed by dance performances, sports competitions, and live music evenings will enliven each day, creating a festive atmosphere where families, young people, and local food enthusiasts all find their place. The celebration culminates on Sunday, May 31st with memorable moments: a traditional tombola drawing in the town square that revives the authentic spirit of village celebrations, followed by a solemn Marian procession and a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the night sky. A truly moving finale for an event that remains a symbol of Tuscan identity and convivial spirit.
