Salamarzana returns to Fucecchio for its seventeenth edition, a medieval festival that transforms Corsini Park and the historic center into a captivating journey through time. Promoted by the Amici del Centro Storico association in collaboration with the Municipality and supported by the Tuscany Region, this event ranks among the major appointments for rediscovering the history and culture of Tuscany, highlighting its significance along the ancient Via Francigena pilgrimage route. Over two festival days (September 5-6, 2026), the historic center comes alive with evocative reenactments of medieval crafts, authentic military encampments, and costumed performers who guide visitors through the city's principal monuments: from Palazzo della Volta to the Bell Tower, from the churches of San Salvatore and San Giovanni Battista to the Civic Museum. An immersive experience that lets you feel the atmosphere of the Middle Ages firsthand. The rich program includes traveling performances of juggling and medieval combat, traditional games, interactive workshops (medieval calligraphy, arts and crafts, artisan demonstrations), falconry displays and archery competitions, plus authentic tastings of typical medieval dishes at themed taverns.
