Smarronando & Svinando (Chestnut & Wine Festival)

The 34th edition of 'Smarronando & Svinando' brings the hamlet of Pietramala to life, in the municipality of Firenzuola, celebrating the quintessential flavors and aromas of the Tuscan autumn. This food and wine festival highlights two seasonal stars: chestnuts and wine, creating a wonderful gathering spot just a short drive from the picturesque Raticosa Pass. The culinary journey features a hearty lunch and tastings throughout the day packed with local traditional specialties: polenta, crescentine flatbreads, cured meat and cheese platters, stewed ribs, an assortment of desserts, and chestnut delights such as fritters, castagnaccio cake, boiled chestnuts (ballotte), and classic roast chestnuts (bruciate), perfectly paired with a glass of new wine or steaming vin brulé (mulled wine). Entertainment continues into the afternoon with engaging activities designed for enjoying great company, delicious food, and fun for all ages.
