Sagra del Pane Regnanino (Festival of Regnanino Bread)

The Sagra del Pane Regnanino returns to Casola in Lunigiana for its 38th edition, an unmissable event for lovers of authentic Tuscan culinary tradition. In the picturesque Conca Verde locality of Regnano, from July 24-26, 2026, the celebrated local bread takes centre stage—enriched by a surprising ingredient: potatoes. This distinctive characteristic gives the bread a pleasant sweet aftertaste, a recipe passed down through centuries thanks to the agricultural traditions of Lunigiana, where potatoes were cultivated by sharecroppers as a secondary crop. Today, Pane Regnanino is produced exclusively on a family scale, making it a rare and precious local treasure. The festival represents one of the few opportunities to taste this authentic gastronomic gem, accompanied by a rich menu of local specialities. Friday 25 and Saturday 26 July from 19:30, and Sunday 27 at lunch from 12:30, visitors can savour traditional dishes in a warm, convivial atmosphere. Beyond culinary delights, the festival offers live music on Friday and Saturday evenings after dinner, and Sunday afternoon features games and entertainment for children.
