Sagra del Prosciutto e del Formaggio Soranese (Sorano Prosciutto and Cheese Festival)

The 62nd edition of the Sagra del Prosciutto e del Formaggio Soranese returns to the heart of summer 2026 to celebrate the authentic flavors of Tuscany's Maremma region. From August 7-23, the charming piazza of Sorano will transform into a gastronomic stage where the star of the show is the renowned Sorano prosciutto, paired perfectly with its local cheese counterpart. These exceptional products, embodying the culinary traditions of the area, will be showcased at food stands featuring recipes cherished by the Sorano community. But this is far more than just a celebration of good food. The festival offers a complete experience blending gastronomic tradition, entertainment, and local culture. A rich program of family-friendly events transforms the sagra into a social gathering where you can rediscover the roots of this territory. Sorano, affectionately nicknamed the ‹Matera of Tuscany› for its medieval charm, becomes the perfect backdrop for a festival that marks the summer season for the entire community. Organized by the Pro Loco, local sports association, and the Parish of San Nicola, with the patronage of the municipality, this sagra is an established tradition celebrating the cultural and gastronomic heritage of the village. With free admission and convenient hours for both lunch (from 12:30 pm) and dinner (two seatings at 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm), it's an unmissable opportunity to taste authentic Tuscany.
