Fotografia italiana 1955 (Italian Photography 1955)

From September 12 to November 15, 2026, Museo Casa Giorgione in Castelfranco Veneto hosts the exhibition 'Fotografia italiana 1955', curated by photographic researcher Simona Guerra. The initiative is organized by the Municipality of Castelfranco Veneto in collaboration with Circolo Fotografico El Paveion and Università Popolare, under the patronage of S.I.S.F. (Italian Society for the Study of Photography). The exhibition brings together around one hundred works, mostly original vintage prints and previously unseen shots sourced from public and private archives, libraries, and national institutions. The showcase also highlights the role and presence of female photographers in what was predominantly a male-dominated scene at the time. Completing the exhibition are two special in-depth sections: one dedicated to photographer and intellectual Gino Oliva, and another focused on the debut works of Mario Giacomelli.
