Sagra della Lumaca Sant’Olcese

The Sagra della Lumaca of Sant'Olcese returns on July 11 and 12 to celebrate Ligurian culinary traditions during the Feast of Sant'Alberto. This unmissable event offers an authentic immersion into the flavors of Liguria, where snails prepared in the local style take center stage over two days devoted to conviviality, genuine gastronomy, and spirituality. Set in the heart of Sant'Olcese's historic village, the festival transforms the area into a joyful celebration uniting folk tradition and religious faith. More than 15 food stalls open at sunset (7 PM) on both Saturday and Sunday, with Sunday lunch service beginning at 12:30 PM. Alongside traditional snail dishes—prepared according to time-honored recipes with garlic, parsley, and tomato sauce—you'll find the finest recipes from Genoese tradition including pesto, focaccia, and trofie pasta, creating a culinary journey through the region's most characteristic dishes. Main course prices range from €12 to €18 per portion. The event is enriched with music and spirituality: Friday evening features Tempo Perso, Saturday brings performances by Rossana and Laura, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the village. Sunday takes on a more solemn character with Holy Mass at 11 AM and an evocative Procession at 5:30 PM, blending faith with popular tradition. Free public parking with approximately 150 spaces is available in areas adjacent to the historic center. The event is fully accessible to visitors with disabilities, including dedicated restroom facilities. Overall capacity is approximately 800 people per seating.
