The Sagra del Cinghiale di Capalbio is an unmissable appointment for lovers of Tuscan gastronomy and authentic Maremma traditions. Now in its 61st edition, this event represents one of the region's most historic culinary celebrations, maintaining since 1965 its mission to honour local food and wine traditions through recipes passed down by generations of hunter-cooks from the territory. Set in the evocative Circolo Cavalcanti di Maremma, nestled in Mediterranean scrubland just 700 metres from the medieval village of Capalbio, the festival offers a complete sensory experience where wild boar raised in the Monteti reserve becomes the absolute star of the palate. The festival menu is a fascinating journey through the most authentic flavours of Maremma: from polenta with wild boar ragù to acquacotta, from grilled wild boar steaks to traditional mazzafegati, each dish tells a story of territory and culinary passion.
