Sagra del Pollo (Chicken Festival)

The 64th edition of the Sagra del Pollo di San Quirico is one of the most eagerly anticipated summer events in the Maremma region of Tuscany. From August 7 to 16, the small hamlet of Sorano transforms into a gastronomic stage where tradition and conviviality meet at the food stalls set up at the Rotonda di Via Indipendenza. Here, every evening from 7:30 PM onwards, visitors can savor the local specialties that have made this festival famous over the decades. The undisputed star of the event is the sanquirichese roasted chicken, a dish that captures the authentic flavors of Maremma cuisine, prepared according to time-honored recipes. But the menu doesn't stop there: crispy Tuscan crostini, pici with ragù sauce, and filled tortelli complete a gastronomic offering that satisfies every palate, combining simplicity with quality.
