The Sagra della Cipolla della Selva returns to celebrate one of the most characteristic products of the Santa Fiora territory in Grosseto province. This gastronomic event, organized by the Cultural Association for Selva and the Misericordia di Selva with the patronage of the Municipality, is an unmissable opportunity to discover the culinary excellence of southern Tuscany. From August 13–15, 2026, the hamlet of Selva will transform into a hub of conviviality and fine food, where the renowned local onion takes center stage. The event unfolds over three days packed with gastronomic offerings. On Thursday and Friday, food stands open at 7:30 PM, allowing visitors to savor traditional onion-based dishes in a charming evening atmosphere. On Saturday, August 15, during Ferragosto, the festival features a special lunch starting at 12:30 PM—a perfect convivial moment for families and groups of friends wanting to enjoy local specialties together. The Cipolla della Selva is more than just an ingredient; it's a symbol of the gastronomic identity of this corner of Tuscany. Cultivated for generations in the fertile volcanic lands of the region, this local variety stands out for its sweet and delicate flavor, perfect as the star of refined dishes. Tradition holds that Selva onions were already appreciated at the medieval market stalls of Grosseto, testament to their long history in the territory.
