In the heart of Tuscany, in Montieri, one of the year's most eagerly awaited events returns: the Prugnolo Festival. This year the event transforms with a completely new look, becoming 'Sui Sentieri del Prugnolo', an immersive weekend dedicated to one of the region's most prized and sought-after mushrooms. Two days celebrating nature, authentic gastronomy and discovery of the territory's treasures, where the prugnolo becomes the undisputed star of a celebration uniting tradition, flavours and conviviality. From May 9–10, Montieri comes alive with a rich and varied programme combining woodland excursions with culinary tastings and entertainment. Visitors can savour gastronomic specialities prepared with typical local products: Saturday evening dinner and Sunday lunch will feature dishes centring on the star ingredient, while Prugnolo Aperitivos in the square (Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning) offer a convivial occasion to immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere. But it's more than just food: Sunday you can discover the market of local products and artisan crafts, plus a mycological exhibition exploring these fascinating fungi. Shows and entertainment animate Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, ensuring family fun.
