Sagra della bistecca (Steak Festival)

The Sagra della Bistecca in Badia Al Pino, a hamlet of Civitella in Val di Chiana, celebrates an iconic staple of Tuscan culinary tradition: Chianina beef. Organized by the Circolo Ricreativo Olinto Paccinelli, the festival highlights the area's rich agricultural and livestock heritage with a massive central grill, where steaks are freshly cooked over hot coals to order. The menu features the renowned Chianina steak alongside other savory meat specialties such as pork ribs (costoliccio), sausages, and mixed grilled meats, served with classic sides of beans, tomatoes, and local wines. To expand the dining options, a wood-fired pizzeria is also available. Evenings at the festival come alive with entertainment, including live music, dance orchestras, folk theatre performances, and dedicated children's areas.
